Shepherd, sheep and wise man

I've been working hard at getting my project list completed for the year.  I'm behind "schedule", but I'm making progress and I'm content with that :)  I've completed some more figures for our Nativity set...

Wise Man #1

The sheep...

and of course, since you can't have sheep without a shepherd...

I'm hoping/planning on getting the other two wise men and the donkey done before Advent starts.

Growing up too fast!

Look what Doodlebug can do...

I came downstairs the other day and found him with a BIG cup in hand, full of ice water.  Drinking!
And NOT spilling!

So...I figured, why not?!?

He's doing very well!

The Fourth of July ~ belated

We made red, white and blue skewers!

 Super Yummy!
 Inspired by Jessica

It's been so rainy around here lately, we we're able to use the fireworks that hubby picked up until a few days later.

The kids weren't sure what to think...

As you can see, they weren't very happy.

Scared would be a more accurate word.

These guys aren't big on noise (unless they're making it, of course).

They were thrilled when they were done though :)

They also had a blast bouncing around in the bounce house

World History ~ Ancient Egypt

Just a few of our projects...

We picked up this kit at Michael's and had some fun putting it together...

I found this great kit (through Jessica).  It's the Ancient Egypt Treasure Chest.  There are 2 games (scarab was really fun), a hieroglyphics kit, complete with papyrus, a timeline/map, and a necklace.  The Professor put it together and has worn it everyday!

Of course, he also built a pyramid out of Legos :)

The Professor's creations

He's been quite busy lately, this kid...check it out!

The Chainsaw

egg beater

wheelbarrow

flip flops!

Stationary Bike

He got this kit from Michael's a while back and put it together in less than 10 minutes!

The above things were built with a motor from another K'Nex set that he has.
The instructions don't include its' use, he adapted the instructions and added it himself!

Science update

We completed the first unit of Exploring Creation with Astronomy, called "What is Astronomy?".  Our first project was to build a solar system (I've always wanted to do this!).  To make it easier, I picked up a kit at Michael's.  We opted for the painted version rather than painting it ourselves :)

To go along with our study of The Way Things Work, I picked up a few new K'Nex kits.  You should have see The Professor's face when we opened the box!  He was THRILLED!!!

He's already built several things...
a blender

He even added a motor!  The instructions didn't include this.  It came from another set he has.

a fan...

yet another motor added... :)

He's also made an egg beater and a stationary bicycle!
pictures soon!
